If you cannot find an answer to your question, please send me a text message or voicemail at (719) 464 - 1739, or email me at Lisa@BestFootForwardNursing.com. Leave me a message with your name and phone number and I will do my best to call you back within 2 business days.
I am a highly trained and experienced Registered Nurse and Certified Foot Care Specialist who is passionate about providing personalized care to each of my clients. I am not a replacement for your Podiatrist or Primary Care Provider. I am part of the team of professionals who can help you take care of your feet. Regular home visits will help you improve or maintain the health of your feet, spot problems sooner to report to your Podiatrist or Primary Care Provider, and learn strategies to care for your feet. I will spend time with you, between 30 and 60 minutes, to ensure your foot care needs are met to the best of my abilities.
During each visit, I will assess the health of your skin, looking for sores on and between your toes, on the bottoms of your feet, and around the heels. I will gently and carefully trim and file your nails, calluses and corns. At the end of your session, you'll enjoy a foot and calf massage (did I mention I'm also a Licensed Massage Therapist?).
Please send me an email at Lisa@BestFootForwardNursing.com, or send me a text message or call and leave me a detailed voicemail at 719-464-1739. I will do my best to returned your message within 2 business days.
The frequency of visits will depend on your individual needs and the care plan we develop together. I offer flexible scheduling options to ensure that you receive the care you need, when you need it. People tend to need a visit between every 6 to 12 weeks. More frequent care is important for people who are at high risk of developing wounds on their feet. At your initial appointment, we will discuss your risk level.
For home visits, the cost of service starts at $80 per visit. Please note that services take about an hour to complete, depending on your needs.
Discounts are offered for bundling services (seeing more than 1 person at a location). Pricing will also be adjusted depending on your location as I am unable to care for as many individuals when I travel a long way to get to you.
I accept credit card, cash, and check. I do not accept or bill health insurance at this time.
I will gently clean your feet with wipes and use a skin friendly disinfectant both before and after trimming nails and calluses.
I do not soak your feet prior to trimming, as this can damage your skin and increase your risk of developing an infection. If you have very thick nails, I will use a chemical surfactant which softens them so I can more effectively trim them.
You should not experience any discomfort during your treatment, and I will work with you closely to ensure you are comfortable.
Yes! This is my specialty. While I generally can't make your toenails grow more normally, I can teach you about good foot health and I'm happy to help you manage them.
Absolutely. If you are under treatment of your wounds by a physician, I will need their permission to trim your nails. I do not remove or replace wound dressings, so foot and nail care may need to be coordinated with the person or home health company that is caring for your wounds.
